The Community Screening Resource Guide was developed by the Maine CDC/DHHS Cardiovascular Health Program in collaboration with several state programs and other partners throughout the state. A major focus of our program is preventing and controlling high blood pressure and cholesterol. The work you do in the community is instrumental to helping reach these goals and we hope this resource will be useful to you.
This guide is intended to be a tool for those conducting community health screenings, specifically blood pressure, cholesterol and once approved for the community setting, blood glucose screenings. It was developed to help provide consistent, evidence based resource to those conducting cardiovascular health screenings.
A limited number of these binders are being produced as "hard copies" but we plan to have all the information available on our website. We will be updating this section of our website at least once a year to ensure the information and resources are up to date. We encourage you to check out our website to be sure your information is up to date.
For updates to these resources visit the screening resources section at the below website http://www.healthymainepartnerships.org/mcvhp/resources.aspx
The Blood Pressure and Blood Cholesterol "Quick Guides" will also be updated as needed and will be included on our website.
Our program and partners thank you for the work you do in your communities.
Special thanks to the many people, programs and organizations who assisted in the development of this binder.
